Boat Donation Charities rescues children in crisis!
Read on to find out
what your boat donation can do...
What can a boat donation do for others? In the early nineties there existed
a dreama wish to help children in need. That hopeful mission became
a reality in 1997 when the Teddy Bear Cops Program was establisheda
program wherein teddy bears are sent to fire, police and emergency departments
to be carried in official vehicles and given to children who have suffered
through a disaster.
Children, who are witness to terrifying realities, may be spared from
going into deep shock, and all the emotional damage such shock can cause
by simply cuddling a small teddy bear.

Our plan was simple. We sent huge boxes filled with teddy
bears to police and fire departments and to emergency service organizations
across the country.
The first 100 boxes we sent brought us warm thanks from chiefs, captains
and their city and county officials.
When we were able to send out 700 boxes of teddies, thanks to all the
boat and car donations, the response was stunning. We were almost overwhelmed,
but we knew we had hit upon a vital need in our society.

The
response was stunning, as you can see from just some of the letters we
have posted here.
Policemen, firefighters and medical techs bombarded us with requests
for ...
more teddies ... more bears!
We received heartfelt stories. Some detailed how their "little friends"
sat in the back seats of police vehicles, waiting to serve a little boy
here or a little girl there.
Friends, the need is great. There are more than 5,000 civic organizations
in our country that badly need a big box of bears (or more) a month. So
please think big when you give...and...ask yourself when was the last
time your old boat comforted a child. Your boat donation can possibly
save a child's sanity.

In the great scheme of things, perhaps a teddy bear given to a traumatized
child wont change the world.
It wont end world poverty, illiteracy, crime or any of 1001 other
plagues that afflict us all.
But maybe it can make one life a little bit better, and another and another.
If it can ease, if only for a moment, the trauma, shock and oftentimes
brutality that emergency service workers encounter all too often, giving
teddy bears to kids and even seniors in emergency situations is totally
a worthwhile activity.

By the way, charity is a very private affair. We do not have permission
from the people who thanked us to publicize their names. Nor do we want
to. Theyre trying to do their jobs. Were doing ours. You do
yours by sending along that boat.
